We offer classes for everyone....beginners making their first quilt,those who want to learn new quilting techniques or those who just want to join friends in learning a fun project.
About our classes:
You can register on-line, in the store or call the store.Class and Retreat fees are due at the time you enroll and are not refundable unless you provide notice 2 weeks before the class begins (Some exceptions apply please read details of the class some workshops are NOT refundable).
Books, patterns, fabrics and notions on the class supply list can be purchased at a 15% discount upon your paid enrollment, through the day of the class. (Some exceptions apply)
If we cancel a class due to low sign up, we will refund your class fee. In most cases we need to have at least 4 students to have a class. If it's winter time and we cancel a class due to bad weather we will call you prior to class and either refund or re-schedule the class for a later time.

Welcome to our Wool and Creative Stitching Club retreat. Our Wool and Creative stitching Club meet 2 times a month. 3rd Wednesdays and 2nd Sundays (Wooly Weekenders) . Those club members are welcome to come to both. We either have a little make and take (for club members) or a technique to learn each month. This is a time to enjoy some stitching time with friends, learn a new skill, share new creative ideas and expand our love of wool and creative hand stitching. We will also have new products, wool and patterns for you to enjoy. Wool and Creative Stitching Club is an annual membership at just $75 for the year. Members enjoy 15% off their products all year long, fun monthly retreats and first chance to purchase new products coming in the store. Join Calle' or Diane for all things wool and creative stitching each month for lots of fun and a great learning experience. Please sign up each month so we know how many are coming for planning. Linda will take you from start to finish with planned techniques for each step of the project and walk you through what the incredible air threading Serger machines can do. You will be amazed at all the features theses machines have and how they can take your sewing from ordinary to extraordinary. Then come to one of our Judy Niemeyer retreats to learn and grow your paper piecing skills. Our retreats focus on YOU and YOUR paper piecing projects you would like to complete. Our retreats will offer 3 - 4 more simplified smaller project patterns. So if you are a "beginning paper piecer" we can re-introduce you to what Foundation Paper Piecing is all about and get you started off right! If you have been doing foundation paper piecing and want to learn more advanced skills or start a larger more difficult project we will also offer in the same retreat time those "skill building" techniques. In both instances you will be on your way to creating beautiful heirloom projects large or small. These will be your creations you can call your own and cherish for years to come. Our Certified Judy Niemeyer teacher May Black will help you with pattern and fabric choices as well. This is a class to be able to work on ANY Judy Niemeyer or similar paper piecing project. So don't be intimidated or scared of these beautiful creations, you too can learn these skills to create treasured Heirloom quilts and projects that will last for years to come. A great time to bring friends for an unforgettable experience. And one of the best parts is Marty and Warren aren’t cooking so we are going to sew with all of our quilting friends all week long. With this week long “Fall Fest” retreat, our normal club retreats will not meet at the shop in October. Instead those clubs members can sign up for this wonderful week long retreat. We want every club member to see what other groups in our shop are all about and what they do. We will have show and tells all throughout our retreat. We can show off what we have accomplished and see what all the other clubs do in their corner of the world. This is an open retreat for anyone to join us and you can work on any project. The retreat room will be open from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm with 16 hours a day of sewing time every single day! You can bring your sewing machine and supplies and setup Sunday evening October 25th from 7:00 – 8:30 pm or when the retreat starts at 7:00 am Monday. This is going to be a celebration with lots of fun…. We promise!. A gift table with over $1000 of give ways with games and prizes galore and we will be giving away a Sewing machine! Are you a quilter who has taken the Beginning Quilter Class, My First Quilt class, or just a quilter with one or two completed quilts under your belt and want to continue to grow your piecing skills? Are you ready to practice techniques on some more challenging blocks to improve your skills? If so, we have you covered! This is the first class in our Skill Builder Series, where we will focus on: Perfecting that 1/4" seam Improving our pressing technique Creating more challenging blocks using strip piecing and half square triangles For this class (and the entire skill builder series) we will use the book: Alice's Wonderland Sample Quilt; 100 Quilt Blocks to Improve Your Sewing Skills, and will construct the first 25 blocks in the book. The great thing about the Skill Builder series is this--you can take your 25 blocks and make a small quilt after the class is done, or, you can continue on to the other classes and complete all 100 blocks and make a large quilt! It's a flexible way for people to improve upon the skills they want to, or learn something new. For each class, students will be asked to bring their fabric pre-cut for the blocks covered in each class to ensure we have time to assemble all of them each class (5 per class). Whether you're in the middle of a small or large project or your wanting to start a new project. This Machine Embroidery Club is designed around YOU, YOUR projects and how we can help you achieve your Machine Embroidery Goals. The club meets the first Friday and Saturday of the month and is for ALL machine brands and is also more for the Intermediate Machine Embroidery user. We will explore techniques such as tiling projects, Quilting in the Hoop and much more. You will advance your learning & skills in no time! This will be an opportunity to try out new projects and more difficult embroidery techniques. This is a Hands on Club and embroidering during our Club Sew days! This class is for anyone who wants to explore the wonderful capabilities of their BERNINA 990 machine! Randy will take you through all of the steps to embroider this large flower panel. You will learn how to use the camera, the scanner, laser and pin point placement. The panel, batting and backing fabric are included in the price of the class. The class will be two days, November 12th and 13th, from 10am until 4:30pm with lunch provided.

Whether you're in the middle of a small or large project or your wanting to start a new project. This Machine Embroidery Club is designed around YOU, YOUR projects and how we can help you achieve your Machine Embroidery Goals. The club meets the first Friday and Saturday of the month and is for ALL machine brands and is also more for the Intermediate Machine Embroidery user. We will explore techniques such as tiling projects, Quilting in the Hoop and much more. You will advance your learning & skills in no time! This will be an opportunity to try out new projects and more difficult embroidery techniques. This is a Hands on Club and embroidering during our Club Sew days! This is not just a lecture, so bring your Embroidery machine and lets start creating and having fun! There will be someone at the shop to help bring your machine in from your car if you need help. (When you bring your machine to the shop and you need help with your machine please lets us know) By joining our Machine Embroidery Club you also get LOTS of benefits. You will get 15% off your Isacord Embroidery thread, OESD stabilizers and patterns when purchasing them through Woodside. You will be the first to be able to pre-purchase new designs before they are released to the public. We will also have "Show and Tell" for what we are working on. Friday is work on your own but support is there if needed. The first 1/2 hour on Saturday will include a discussion on new designs, threads or stabilizers that have just been released as well as learning a new technique.
