Our Quilts of Valor Event was a HUGE success!
We had a terrific time at our Quilts of Valor kick off of our own
"Woodside Quilting QOV Group".
Thanks to you and the interest in this very worthy cause, our group is at 50 Quilters!
What better way to honor our Veterans than with the start of our own "Woodside Quilting - Quilts of Valor Group". Marianne Fons of Fons and Porter was at the store June 20th to kick off the festivities with a talk on Quilts of Valor, a trunk show, demo's and first hand knowledge of how Quilts of Valor (QOV) has benefited our Veterans and those who Serve.
A little bit about Quilts of Valor for those of you that are new to the foundation. The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is "To cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor." Many of you have expressed an interest in becoming a member of a newly formed QOV Group here at Woodside. We as a group will have programs like a Saturday Sew, Guest Speakers, Trunk Shows, National Quilt teachers and many other opportunities in the shop with lots of fun creating Quilts of Valor for many deserving individuals.
We will have lots of exciting fun ahead of us!
If you were not able to attend the kick off you can still join us.
Throughout the year we will have lots of events making QOV quilts for many deserving individuals.
